Daitokuji Temple was our last stop on the first day. It's a fairly large area that's actually made up of a few different temples and a Buddhist school all in one complex. In fact they even have a meditation hour that is open to anyone interested. We actually got chased out of one of the gardens to clear the area in preparation for meditation hour. There are several impressive Zen rock gardens here and since it was late in the day there were only a few other visitors. Add in some snow flurries and we were able to truly sit in these gardens and have some zen-like peace and calm amidst the falling snow. The rock garden in the second picture down is supposed to be the smallest Zen garden in Japan but that'll only until I get mine built! Then I'll have the smallest Zen garden in Japan!
